Last day in Bali, and with our flight departing only after lunch time, I took the chance for an early morning swim at the Ritz Carlton’s Ocean Beach Pool, their salt water pool located a step above the beach. The setting of the pool was amazing with a cliff on one side, and an infinity edge that faces towards the horizon of the vast ocean. With the pool opening at 8 am, there was practically no one on the pool, which means a ‘private’ plunge into the waters for me! It was high tide at the ocean with the waves lapping against the rocks. The serenity of the whole surrounding makes it a very relaxing swim in the morning.
I had also taken some of the best pictures of the hotel at this day as I had more time to carefully compose some of the shots that I took. The light and exposure was also perfect, allowing me to get the best color out of the scenery. One bad part was the slightly misty conditions in the early morning, and for that I might need to learn Photoshop first. Any critics of the photos are welcome, so that I may improve for my next holiday 😀
After the swim, it was time to head back to the room for a bath before catching a leisurely breakfast. As our flight back to Jakarta was through Air Asia, which was a budget flight, and it was leaving around lunch time, we filled up more for breakfast, thinking of skipping lunch. With the food variety to be one of the better ones, it was an easy thing to do for a fulfilling brunch.
The rest of the time before check out was spent venturing into the Villa section of this Hotel. First of all, the Ritz Carlton has hotel rooms and luxurious villas. While the villas we stayed at Gending Kedis was great, the ones here was amazing, since it had ocean views. The costs, however, seems to exponentiate with the views. We had, the chance, to take a peek into one of the one-bedroom villas as a helpful staff brought us there in the hotel cart, not unlike the golf buggies prowling around those greens. The eye-opener was its bathroom which was larger than the bedroom itself…
As this villa was situated more deep from the cliffsides, it only had a partial view, though there were more villas situated just by the cliff side. Somewhere to head towards with that special someone for that special occassion!
